“This piece was inspired by my experience of being in high school in the mid-90s. Mix tapes were the preferred method of communication among my friends, from the songs which were carefully selected, to the custom inserts we made for them.
I made a Spotify playlist, Mix Tape for Crushes and Break-ups to accompany this piece and to highlight two examples of occasions where mix tapes were essential: the crush, and the break-up.”
